I've been reading some good reviews about Cavalry lately, so I decided to give this a try. Turns out it was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. My old external hard drive had a loud, annoying fan, but this drive is incredibly quiet. The black case is really nice, and the LED logo on the front looks great.I backed up all my files and I still have tons of room. 1TB for this price is an amazing deal. I have a couple of boxes of HDD's. This has worked quite well to transfer data from one drive to the next, and from machine to drive. The design of the dock keeps the drives fairly cool and I didn't have any overheat issues. I have used it with Mac OS X Snow Leopard on a Mac Mini Server, and an iMac, also used it on a Dell Precision with Windows 7. I had to use this dock on one drive that quit mounting in a Sandisk FW 400/800 raid case, an it mounted fine with this dock. The dock comes pre-configured for JBOD.
